Nonetheless, she was on her way to the priest's residence.

As a result, the female was discovered to be a Catholic Women's League member at St. Maurice Catholic Church in Lusaka.

In the end, the Church suspended Father Abel Mwelwa and compelled him to pay for funeral expenses incurred due to the incident.

Father Abel Mwelwa invited the married lady to the parish house on Holy Thursday evening. Archbishop Alick Banda eventually suspended the clergyman as the Archdiocese of Lusaka's judicial vicar moments after the incident became public.

Father Mwelwa had been relieved of his parish priest duties in Kaunda Square. Additionally, a legitimate church memo stated.

"I am writing to inform you that I have immediately and indefinitely suspended the Rev. Ringford Abel Mwelwa from the priesthood. He resigned as Parish Priest of Kaunda Square Parish due to this suspension. Second, the priest relinquishes his position as Judicial Vicar to the Archbishop of Lusaka." A section of the memo was read.

However, an unconfirmed source stated that the priest injected something into the deceased. This became an attempt to terminate her pregnancy.

However, the diseased's circle of relatives mandated that the clergyman cover funeral expenses. A supply near the scene of the incident was discovered. The female's family advised the police to investigate the actual cause of her death.

Church leaders sleeping with female congregation members has become increasingly common. Catholicism is no exception. Numerous catholic clergymen worldwide have been accused of paedophilia by some humans.

Father Roger Sinclair is a living example of this, having been removed from the Diocese of Greensburg in Pennsylvania in 2002 for allegedly abusing a teenage boy months in advance.
