Steven Ouma Atiki, a resident of Makina village in Masaba sub-county, died in action at Diraho village in Buyuha trading centre in Masaba sub-county near the telecom Mast. The woman whose name has been withheld is a resident of Bunyadeti village in Buhehe sub-county.
Ouma’s lifeless body was found half naked with his clothes hanging on a nearby tree in the bush.
Locals in the Buhehe sub-county allege that Ouma had been sleeping with the woman for months despite several warnings from his friends and relatives that his actions were wrong. They suspect that the woman’s husband could have killed Ouma through witchcraft.
‘For him to die in the act means that the husband to the woman must have warned him already. The man warned him to stop, but he refused; I don’t think this was the first time they would enjoy themselves in that bush. Let it serve as a lesson to other men who like grabbing people’s wives for themselves; it is bad,” one of the locals said

Didas Byaruhanga, the Busia District police commander, says investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances under which Ouma passed. He says they have opened a general inquiry file at Masaba police station to investigate the matter.
The deceased’s body has been transferred to Masafu police station pending a postmortem.
