Norwegian Cruise Line had a big party for their new ship, Norwegian Viva, in Miami. It's their second ship in the Prima Class.
The president of NCL, David J. Herrera, said, 'It's really special for us to name Norwegian Viva in Miami. It's where we're from, and we're happy to celebrate with our local family and friends.'
He also thanked everyone who helped make the ship, especially the NCL team, partners, and crew who take care of the guests.
After Norwegian Viva started sailing in August and had its first trips around Europe, more than 1,500 guests came to the special event at PortMiami to celebrate the ship.

We are happy to have Norwegian Viva in our top-quality fleet. Our guests have loved the ship since it started sailing in August. They've given it the best scores ever for a new ship in NCL's history. It's not just because the ship looks great, but also because our crew gives fantastic service.
Luis Fonsi, a famous singer, officially named Norwegian Viva. He broke a champagne bottle on the ship for good luck and safe travels.
The party went on all night with Fonsi singing his popular songs like “Despacito” and others.
At the celebration, they also revealed and dedicated the Knut Kloster Hall, which honors the founder of the company and shows the 57-year history of NCL's innovations in the cruise industry.
"Norwegian Viva is a big ship, about 965 feet long, and it can carry up to 3,099 guests. Some of the best things about Norwegian Viva are the three-story Viva Speedway, a cool food place called Indulge Food Hall with 11 different food spots, and an amazing art collection. One of the coolest art pieces is a huge interactive work by Dominic Harris called “Every Wing has a Silver Lining,” which is at the Metropolitan Bar.
After starting trips from Miami and a few other places, the ship will move to San Juan, Puerto Rico, and become the newest ship to start trips from there on December 15.
From now until March 2024, Norwegian Viva will take guests on week-long trips around the Caribbean. Every day, guests will wake up in a new beautiful tropical island. The stops include Tortola, British Virgin Islands; St. John's, Antigua; Bridgetown, Barbados; Castries, St. Lucia; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; and St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, without any days spent at sea.
In April 2024, Norwegian Viva will start sailing trips around the Mediterranean and Greek Isles. These trips will give people a chance to experience the wonderful sights and cultures of Europe. Also, NCL offers a special deal called 'Free at Sea' all year round. This deal gives travelers extra benefits like unlimited drinks, special dining experiences, money for shore trips, free Wi-Fi, cheaper rates for third and fourth guests, and even free airfare for the second guest.
